I am ecstatic that the Center of Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) has been inaugurated at Minhaj University (MUL) Lahore after establishing ten research centres. Without genuine research, higher education serves no value for a nation. MUL is playing a vital role in accelerating the pace of national development and reconstruction; consequently, CEPD complements our mission of research and innovative thought as a prerequisite for the shift in academic norms. It is believed that academic and industrial proximity is essential for innovation, efficiency, and sustainable growth. The Center facilitates interactions between faculty, entrepreneurs, scholars, students, and industry in an effort to enhance research opportunities, academic excellence, and market-based solutions to complex problems. The Center is created to enhance economic decision-making by identifying policy challenges and designing and advising on high-impact policy reforms based on empirical evidence. With this mission, the Center provides facilities and a conducive intellectual environment for students, faculty, and visiting scholars conducting research into the issues of economic development. The CEPD also provides advisory services to institutions and industries to assist them in increasing productivity and efficiencies.
